Frerejean Freres, 1er Cru Brut, Champagne (France)

A finely balanced champagne that maintains a beautiful freshness. 50% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot Meunier aged for at least five years in the cellar creating a perfect balance of vivacity and maturity. Certainly not put to shame by more expensive and well known brands!

Chemin des Pelerins, Blanc, Saint Mont, Plaimont, Gascony (France)

Lively and extremely fresh, this is a rich, well balanced wine with seductive aromas of grapefruit, peach, pear and apricot with a dry crisp finish. Nestled in the heart of South west France, the appellation of Saint Mont stretches into the Pyrenees where the Benedictine Monks have  grown vines since the 11th Century.

Catarrato ‘Fedele’,  Terre Siciliane (Italy)

Sicily’s ‘own’ white grape, Catarrato is packed with fresh citrus and tropical fruit flavours. Enjoyable and refreshing. Organic, too.

Gruner Veltliner ‘Spiegle’ Johann Mullner, Krems (Austria)

Verdejo ‘Menade’, Rueda Blanco, (Spain)

Originating from northern Burgundy, with Chablis next door, this has  a racy, lively acidity which blossoms into a peachy Chardonnay with generous weight.

Lively yet supple with seductive aromas of fresh red fruits. Delightfully fresh, with an appealing softness.

Rose, Forrest Estate, Marlborough (New Zealand)

Strawberry and raspberry flavours abound with a mere hint of dry herbs. Crisp and refreshing, with just a touch of sweetness and a hint of tannin, yet finishing dry.

Chateau de l’Aumerade Rose, Cuvee ‘Marie Christine’ Cotes de Provence (France)

A fine, pale pink Provence Rose, with orange and grapefruit aromas, a delicate herbaceousness summery red fruit. A wonderful drink to view and accompany the sun setting behind the village church.

Characterful, cassis-rich red from local Gascon grape, Tannat, with Cabernet Sauvignon and the rare Pinenc. Silky tannins and a fresh finish

Rich blackcurrant and blackberry flavours, with touches of mint and spice. Full-bodied with soft, ripe tannins.

Corbières, Le P’tit Spencer, (France)

A lively blend of Rhône type grapes (Carignan, Mourvedre & Syrah) that does not take itself too seriously but delivers a really characterful glass of red. Juicy cranberry and blackcurrant fruit.

Cala N. 1, Bodega Tinedo, Castilla, La Mancha (Spain)

A shimmering, blue-hued, cherry-toned, chocolate and spiced  blend of Tempranillo, Syrah and Cabernet. Powerful, yet restrained, warm yet elegant. Pure, unoaked fruit.

Prios Maximus ‘Roble’, Ribera del Duero (Spain)

Made from the 40-year-old vines of the great Pesquera estate, this has spent just six months in American oak. Packed with juicy black fruit and soft tannins, this is at once elegant yet, at the same time, quite grand!

Serpaiolo, Rosso Maremma Toscana, Serpaia di Endrizzi, Tuscany (Italy)

A ‘SuperTuscan’, with succulent red fruit and hints of plum skins and leather. Rich with an elegant structure.  Recommended.

Pinot Noir, Forrest Estate, Marlborough (New Zealand)

On the nose, raspberry, strawberry, red cherry, an earthy “forest floor” leaf note and just a hint of sweet spicy oak. The fresh berry fruit aromas continue through onto the palate, together with a rich underlay of Christmas cake. Long and savoury aftertaste.
